We’re thrilled to announce that Joshua Lloyd has been shortlisted for another award in 2022, this time round for the prestigious Great British Entrepreneur Awards, with Joshua himself being shortlisted for the young person in business award.
Having been put forward for numerous awards this year from our amazing community, including the North West LGBTQ+ Business Awards and a finalist at the StartUp Awards National Series, we’re extremely grateful to be recognised for such a prestigious award, especially with the awards this year having the most ever entrants.
As with any award or recognition, it’s vital to highlight that this would not be possible without the hard work behind the scenes from everyone involved with the brand, but most importantly you and our loyal customers and community who have helped shape Joshua Lloyd to become Europe’s Number 1 LGBTQ+ Identity Pride Shop!

“It’s an honour and amazing achievement to be shortlisted for young person in business at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, although this is somewhat a personal award, I truly believe it’s a true reflection on the brand itself and the hard work carried out by everybody involved and most importantly our amazing community who have helped us build one of the most inclusive and diverse brand possible on an international scale.
Although at the upper end of the age category, the dream that is Joshua Lloyd was formed many years ago and has taken years of dedication and hard work to get the brand to the level it sits at today, but there’s many more years ahead to continue building the worlds most inclusive shopping experience and safe space community!
I must express that none of this would have been possible without the partnerships built with sustainable manufactures and freelance artists, working alongside our charity partner LGBT Foundation and our amazing community and customers who have supported the brand since the beginning, without any of them or the partnerships built, Joshua Lloyd would be nowhere near the level it is today.”
What are the Great British Entrepreneur Awards?
The Great British Entrepreneur Awards, in partnership with Starling Bank, acknowledges and champions the hard work and uplifting stories of business owners across the UK, with an emphasis on their journey and resilience over financial achievements.
Twelve awards will be given out per region for categories including Disruptor of the Year, Entrepreneur for Good Award, and the Great British Entrepreneur of the Year. Notable winners from previous years include Social Chain founder Steven Bartlett, who went on to become the youngest ever investor on BBC’s Dragon’s Den.
Founder of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, Francesca James, said the quality of this year’s entrants exemplified the strength of entrepreneurship across the UK: “The quality of applications is consistently excellent year on year, but we have been especially blown away by the innovation, drive and determination demonstrated this year. Shortlisting from so many inspiring contenders has been more challenging than ever, with many deserving cases put forward and an ever-growing business community thriving across the country.
“From the pandemic to the ongoing cost of living crisis, business owners haven’t had it easy over the past few years, but it’s a testament to the tenacity and perseverance of these entrepreneurs that they have continued on their path and refused to give in.
