Global StartUp Awards Finalist

Introduction

All of us here at Joshua Lloyd are excited to announce that we have been shortlisted for ‘Global StartUp’ in the StartUp Awards National Series 2022. This is an amazing achievement for our brand which has seen exponential international growth over the last few years and would not have been possible without our dedicated team and loyal customers like you!

We are extremely grateful to be involved in one of the UK’s most prestigious award ceremonies that recognises small business from all industries, alongside those looking to make positive change within our current climate.

With thousands of applications from across the country, even to be shortlisted is a truly amazing achievement, but like mentioned, it would not have been possible without the hard work behind the scenes from everybody involved with the brand, and most importantly you our loyal customers and community!

Message From Joshua

“This is a truly remarkable achievement for Joshua Lloyd and everything that the brand stands for. When first launching the brand from my parents bedroom back in 2019, I truthfully never expected the brand to grow to such the international level it is today. People from all corners of the globe are now able to purchase inclusive fashion and LGBTQ+ pride accessories with confidence.

Being shortlisted for such a prestigious award puts us in a spotlight where we can actively share the importance of equality, love and inclusion which is the core ethos of Joshua Lloyd.

The work me and the team do on a daily basis working alongside our LGBTQ+ charity and organisations, is always focused on the community whilst raising awareness to issues still faced within the LGBTQ+ community. Being shortlisted for the StartUp Awards will help us do this on a much larger and public scale!”

About StartUp Awards

The StartUp Awards National Series has been launched to recognise the booming startup scene across the UK which has accelerated since the pandemic began. In 2020, when most of the world was shutting down, more than 400,000 startups were set up in Britain, with similar increases seen in other European countries.

Supported nationally by BT, EY, Dell & Intel, the programme will celebrate the achievements of the amazing individuals across the UK who have turned an idea into an opportunity and taken the risk to launch a new product or service.

Co-founded by the team behind the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, the new series follows the success of the Wales StartUp Awards, after organisers recognised the exceptional potential in the startup scene across the other British regions.

Professor Dylan Jones-Evans OBE, the creator of the StartUp Awards National Series, said: “New firms are important for generating economic prosperity, employment opportunities and innovation. Since 2016, the Wales StartUp Awards have celebrated this amazing annual contribution to our economy by entrepreneurs and the impact they have on communities across the nation.

“Given the sheer volume of phenomenal startups we’ve heard from since then, as well as the huge post-pandemic shift in people’s desires to take their career in a new direction and set up a business against the odds, we felt it was the right time to take the programme nationwide. We’ve been blown away by the standard of entries in this first year and truly look forward to crowning the winners in July.”

Joshua Lloyd Globally

When Joshua Lloyd first began back in 2019, the dream of reaching the LGBTQ+ community on a global scale always seemed unreachable. However with exponential international growth over the last couple of years, we’re delighted to provide our products, services and charity integrations to the community around the world.

Being recognised for this growth and work by StartUp Awards strives us even further to expand the message of equality internationally on our mission to create the most inclusive brand in the world whilst also ensuring we support the LGBTQ+ community.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated closer to the time if anything changes, but for now we’d like to truly thank you once more for your amazing support over the last few years. You are what makes Joshua Lloyd strive and it honestly would not be possible without you!
