If you’ve been part of our community for some time, you may be well aware that Joshua Lloyd works alongside leading LGBTQ+ charities, organisations and industries to fight for equality, raise vital funds for those in need, whilst creating a safe space environment for all of our customers, community and fans.
To extend the reach and impact of our main ethos in helping the LGBTQ+ community, we’ve pledged £500 towards
The Consortium of LGBT and actively joined them as a corporate member to create a stronger, more inclusive community at Joshua Lloyd!
We truly believe that moving forward alongside The Consortium will allow us to improve our positive impact within the LGBTQ+ community as we continue to strive forward to create a more accepting world one step at a time.
Who are Consortium?
The Consortium for stronger LGBT+ communities is a national specialist infrastructure and membership organisation which works to strengthen and support LGBT+ groups, organisations and projects to ensure they deliver direct services and campaign for individual rights.
History of Consortium
Unfortunately, little specialist infrastructure exists to support LGBT+ groups and organisations, in addition, existing voluntary sector infrastructure organisations have often failed to acknowledge or provide the right support for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans plus projects.
Consortium was set up in 1998 to address these gaps and to nurture the development of an LGB sector. In 2003, the desire for greater diversity from Members saw Consortium expand its brief to include trans voluntary and community organisations.
In 2018, in recognition of the ever-increasing diversity of LGBT+ organisations, The Consortium included the plus (+) to proactively highlight their support for those LGBT+ organisations serving diverse parts of our sector.
Consortium’s Work
The Consortium work alongside their members through leading a wide range of diverse projects, networks and fund to ensure that LGBTQ+ people are catered for in an ever-changing world, whilst helping increase visibility and awareness to the community. Below we highlight some of the main ways in which The Consortium help members such as ourselves.
Training & Development
Consortium delivers a diverse programme of support and training to LGBT+ groups thanks to funding by the Government Equalities Office.
Working With LGBT+ Groups
Consortium offer a wide range of practical support for people who run LGBT+ groups project and networks.
Building Networks
Consortium facilitates a range of thematic networks across the LGBT+ Sector.
Outcomes & Impact
Consortium aims to help LGBT+ groups identify the changes their work is making and how to demonstrate this.
It’s important to highlight that alongside the support mentioned above, Joshua Lloyd will work alongside The Consortium to ensure the work we carry out will help us increase inclusivity and equality whilst fighting for LGBTQ+ rights.

Impact of Working With Consortium
