Pansexuality is a sexual, romantic or emotional attraction towards others regardless of their sex or gender identity. Pansexual people my refer to themselves as omnisexual or Gender-Blind, asserting that gender is not a determing factor for their romantic or sexual attraction to others.
Pansexuality differs from Bisexuality but the two aren’t mutually exclusive. Being Bisexual means being attracted to more than one gender, whereas Pansexual means being attracted to people regardless of gender.
Pansexuality and Bisexuality do not conflict one another, some people believe that Pansexuality better includes people of all genders while others are happy identifying as Bisexual.
Pansexual Pride Flag
The pansexual pride flag was created as a symbol for the pansexual community to express their pansexuality. Originally created by Jasper V, the pansexual flag was has been around since mid-2010 and gained traction through numerous online websites. The pride flag has increased in popularity over recent years and is used to increase visibility and recognition for the pansexual community whilst defining itself from bisexuality.
Colours Of The Pansexual Flag
Like other LGBTQ+ pride flags, the pansexual pride flag compromises of numerous colours which each represent something unique. The three vertical lines consist of magenta represents sexual attraction to those within the female spectrum, yellow for sexual attraction to non binary people and the cyan for representation of sexual attraction to those who identify within the male spectrum.
